Tapas and wine bar located in one of the many splendid old buildings on the main promenade, with an eclectic decor midway between traditional and trendy, and a vibe which changes with the seasons, and the time of day. Sit outside at the tables and people-watch when the weather is good, inside in the cosy main bar when it’s not. During the day, it’s a great place for either a leisurely lunch or a quick drink/snack whilst shopping or sightseeing; in the evening, music is provided by DJs or live acts.

Description

Name of establishment: 7 Imeio, Olhão

Style and ambience:

Tapas and wine bar located in one of the many splendid old buildings on the main promenade, with an eclectic decor midway between traditional and trendy, and a vibe which changes with the seasons, and the time of day. Sit outside at the tables and people-watch when the weather is good, inside in the cosy main bar when it’s not. What to eat?

A good range of tasty and sensibly-priced Portuguese tapas, including tiborna, goat’s cheese, scrambled eggs with prawns, chourico, octopus, tuna, black pork and bifana.

There’s also a wide choice of sushi and sashimi, available as individual portions or as set-size selections, or as takeaway.

What to drink?

An extensive Portuguese wine list, beers and spirits, soft drinks, tea and coffee, and a range of signature gins and cocktails.

Why do you like it?

In terms of food, drink and atmosphere, there’s something for everybody, and whilst Olhão is justifiably famous for its fish and seafood restaurants, it’s nice to have a value-for-money alternative that doesn’t fall into the bland international/fast-food category.

The website is only in Portuguese, but they have a Facebook page.
